One of the purposes of Majavan tila osk is to defend the commons from the climate crisis, by bringing Finland closer to carbon neutrality. We are happy to announce that we have managed to reduce our direct energy usage (electricity costs) by approximately 50 % with a small investment in energy saving. Our energy use As discussed previously, the main contributions to carbon emissions that we expect to help reduce are those from building construction and heating.

One of the purposes of Majavan tila osk is to foster relationships between the people in our neighbourhoods, particularly projects which grow the commons. We are therefore very happy to have joined the association Etelä-Haagan toriryhmä ry. Etelä-Haagan toriryhmä ry Etelä-Haagan toriryhmä helps people come together to organise local events in Haagan tori, one of the 8 market squares of Helsinki (according to the city’s own Torilla tavataan!). Individuals, groups and businesses can join the association to participate in the events arranged in Haagan tori and to propose their own.
